Exam- Transition. Final Piece

STEP BY STEP:
1.

^^ I started using the same principle as my last main piece- using a photocopy of my own photography, enlarged and attached to a large piece of cotton. On top of this, I started to collage pieces of ripped text and paper.

2.

^^ Next, I worked into this backdrop using acrylic paint, pen and ink, and oil pastel.

3.

^^ To give the composition more depth, I started to add some darker colours so the image didn't look as 'ghostly'.

FINISHED PIECE:

4.

^^ I finished by adding more acrylic paint, and black lines to give the composition perspective and depth. It also draws the eye to the main area of the image.

5.

^^ This shows a close up of the areas I have worked into with pen and ink etc. I have used tracing paper, and images from Otley and Paris together to make the final composition.

Exam- Transition. ICT Manipulations

Using photoshop, I have merged two of my own images. One from Otley, and one Paris:

Exam- Transition. Preparation

To prepare for this exam, I took lots of photographs, as this would be, again, the main basis of the project. I took inspiration from a recent art trip to Paris, and used these photos to inspire new photographs in the same style, but using Otley as the location.

Sense of Place Finished Piece

The main piece is a large area of fabric, to which I attached a photocopy of my own photography as a background for the painting and oil pastel on the top.
I have dripped paint over the photocopy, and worked into it with dark colours and oil pastels.
Finally, I added thick black lines using acrylic paint to draw the eye into the main image, and give the composition perspective.

Photographs- Libby + Lucy + Frame

I took this photograph of libby peering round the door of the art room. I have edited it so that the foreground is in focus, and the background is blurred, drawing the attention to the foreground. >

I then used this photograph to make a collage over the top using different textures and images. >

^^ This is a piece I did in my sketchbook using coloured inks. I used an ink pen to show the image, then blew the ink away from the image.

^^

I have used the same blur filter on the photograph, and the frame to create a focal point.

vv

^^ This photograph is a simple shot focusing on the model and the frame. I have edited the colours to make it very pure and quite saturated. I have then used layers to put slight colour back into the face that is in the frame.

^^ I have edited the colour of the inside of the photo frame to give the idea of change. This gives the photo a surreal feel.

^ On this photo, the camera was slightly covered by branches, which also covers the model too.
